Description

The Sodankylä church is one of the oldest remaining wooden churches of Finland, built in 1689. The church is humble and made of unpainted wood. It is dark like this also from the inside, and it has bodies buried below the floor (as it was customary back then) during the 18th century. The people buried below the church floor were highly honored. Some of the bodies have mummified, and you can take a peek at them through the gaps between floor planks

This card belongs to postcard book “Some windows”, which consists of 21 cards. Postcard book costs 16 euros.
