Description
Isaac M. Singer started manufacturing treadle sewing machines in America in the 1850s. Invention of the treadle sewing machine was a great improvement for both the clothing industry and the ordinary home tailor. The sewing machine was incredibly fast, e.g it took about an hour to sew a man’s shirt using a machine while it took more than 14 hours to sew it by hand.
This old sewing machine shows especially wonderfully how everything was beautifully decorated in the old days.
