Description
The card picture shows a crocheted nap blanket with a pattern known as “granny square”. The blanket is made by crocheting many small square pieces, which are connected to each other by sewing or crocheting.
The model was very popular in the 1970s, when bags, clothes and interior textiles were made from it. Crocheting a square pattern is easy to learn and you can use small spools of yarn left over from other crafts. By using different colors, you can do very different things from the basic model, and since many different versions of the basic model have been developed, you can do almost anything with this technique!
