Description
The church of Kerimäki, which was built in 1847, is the biggest wooden church in the world. About 3000 people fit in there to sit, and if you count the places suited for standing, it has room for 5000 people. That’s half of the population of the municipality when it was built. The church is in use during the warm time of the year, and in the winter they use a smaller church which is easier to keep warm.
