Description
Each region (maakunta) in Finland has a flower or plant chosen to represent it. This symbolizes the regional flora and the nature of the region.
Daisy is the regional flower of Central Finland and grows in dry, bright places such as roadsides, meadows, cliffs and rocks. The perennial flower is also familiar in gardens and is common in Southern and central Finland. The daisy, favored by butterflies, blooms in June – September.
