Description

Every season has its pros and cons. Many people dislike cold and dark wintertime but some love it.

According to the astronomical definition, winter in this hemisphere is the time between the winter solstice and the March equinox. In the Southern hemisphere winter is the time between the summer solstice and the September equinox.

Meteorologists define that winter is when the daily mean temperatures are below 0 °C (32 °F) for five consecutive days. In Northern Finland this time lasts about 7 months, whereas the South it is about three months. Global warming affects the length of the winter there has not been a real winter in South Finland at all in the recent years.

This postcard is finished with a special matte coating. It makes the surface of the card feel soft, almost like fabric. It can be touched freely because no fingerprints are left on the surface!
