Description
The giant’s kettle in the picture was photographed in Askola, Southern Finland a few years ago. The giant’s kettles were formed when the latest ice age ended, over 10 000 years ago, when the glaciers melted. Water and stones rubbed around, swirling sometimes round and round, making giant holes into the rock. Askola has the biggest giant’s kettle area of Finland, containing more than 20 of them in different sizes.
